Sandals Resorts Launches $200 Million Overhaul of Three Jamaica Properties

Sandals Resorts International is investing $200 million to transform three of its flagship Jamaican properties, introducing a suite of new dining concepts, architectural upgrades, and room categories. The initiative, dubbed Sandals 2.0, aims to modernize the guest experience while deepening the brand's ties to its Caribbean heritage and local culture.

The massive renovation project focuses on Sandals Montego Bay, the newly renamed Sandals Caribbean Cay, and Sandals South Coast. Each location will see a series of phased reopenings between November and December 2026, featuring a mix of expanded accommodations and high-end culinary additions. At the brand’s original flagship, Sandals Montego Bay, the company is introducing the Buccan restaurant and a revamped Parisol Beach Club, which preserves historic bricks from the resort’s early days as the Bay Roc Hotel.

Sandals Caribbean Cay, formerly known as Sandals Royal Caribbean, will pivot its identity around its private offshore island, adding 84 new rooms and signature SkyPool Suites. Meanwhile, the 500-acre nature-focused Sandals South Coast will debut the brand's first-ever Beachfront Club Two Queen Junior Suites to better accommodate group travel. According to Executive Chairman Adam Stewart, the investment is designed to evolve the guest experience by rooting new amenities in Jamaican traditions, such as the addition of local rum bars and island-inspired dining venues across all three resorts.
