Buckingham Palace Dominates AI Perception Over Harry and Meghan

Buckingham Palace holds a decisive 70 to 51 lead over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in AI citation share, according to a study by 5W AI Communications. The research, which parsed responses from Anthropic’s Claude, reveals that the monarchy retains superior visibility across almost every metric of public reputation.

The inaugural 5W Citation Share Index™ analyzed 18 plain-language prompts to determine how AI engines frame the royal family. While the Palace secured victories in five out of six categories—including philanthropy, succession, and public events—the Sussexes outperformed the firm in commercial activity by 34 points. This specific lead remains the only category where the working monarchy is constitutionally barred from competing.

The findings highlight a sharp divide in how generative models process royal narratives. Buckingham Palace commands a neutral-context citation rate of 58%, with only 11% negative framing. Conversely, Harry and Meghan face a polarized landscape, drawing 37% positive and 34% negative sentiment. The data suggests that AI engines have effectively absorbed existing public divisions, treating Prince Harry as a central figure in royal discourse despite his departure from official duties five years ago. King Charles remains the most prominent individual, appearing in 83% of all relevant prompts.
