Innoscience Cleared to Market GaN Products in Germany

The Munich Regional Court has ruled that Innoscience’s current gallium nitride power devices do not infringe upon Infineon’s German patents. This decision ensures the company can continue selling its core product portfolio in the German market without legal restrictions, aligning with recent favorable outcomes in the United States and China.

The court’s findings mirror a recent determination by the U.S. International Trade Commission, which similarly cleared Innoscience of infringing on Infineon’s packaging design patents. While the Munich judges identified infringement regarding a specific, limited set of legacy 650–700V transistors, those products have already been discontinued. Consequently, no injunctions apply to the company's active inventory or ongoing operations.

This ruling arrives alongside a series of legal victories for Innoscience, including a successful injunction and damages award secured against Infineon in China last month. Despite the ongoing nature of patent invalidity challenges in Germany, these independent judicial findings across three major jurisdictions suggest that Infineon’s global litigation campaign has failed to disrupt Innoscience’s market presence. The company maintains that these consistent outcomes reinforce the technical integrity of its GaN solutions and its capacity to compete freely in the global semiconductor sector.
