3M Boosts Quarterly Dividend 6.8% as Annual Yield Reaches 2%

Industrial giant 3M has authorized a 6.8% increase to its quarterly dividend, raising the payout to 78 cents per share from the previous 73 cents. The move, announced Tuesday, signals the company's continued focus on shareholder returns following a steady performance in the public markets.

The revised payout brings the total annual dividend to $3.12 per share. Based on Tuesday’s closing price of $155.68, this distribution represents an annual yield of approximately 2%. This adjustment reflects management's strategy to maintain competitive returns for its investor base.

Timeline for Shareholders

According to the company's official statement, the dividend is payable on March 12. Investors must be stockholders of record by Feb. 13 to qualify for the increased distribution. The hike follows a period of rigorous capital management as the conglomerate navigates a complex global manufacturing environment.

By increasing its payout, 3M reinforces its position among large-cap industrial firms that prioritize consistent dividend growth. The move is expected to appeal to income-focused investors looking for stability in the industrial sector.
