MARS Company Aligns Meter Testing Tech with New AWWA M6 Standards

The American Water Works Association has released the sixth edition of its M6 Manual, marking the most substantial update to water meter testing protocols in a decade. MARS Company now stands as the only provider offering a test bench and enterprise software solution fully compliant with these revised mandates.

The updated guidelines place rigorous new demands on testing accuracy, repeatability, and duration, specifically targeting the ultrasonic and electromagnetic meters outlined in the ANSI/AWWA C715 standard. These technical shifts force a reevaluation of infrastructure for municipalities and service providers nationwide, as existing equipment may no longer satisfy the heightened precision requirements.

MARS Company CEO Dave Corey emphasized that the move is designed to stabilize testing reliability for utilities. By securing early compliance, the firm aims to insulate its clients from the operational disruptions typically triggered by evolving industry benchmarks. The company will showcase its certified systems at the upcoming AWWA ACE 26 trade show in Washington, D.C., demonstrating how the updated software and hardware suite handles the latest generation of measurement technology.
