While the overall results missed the mark, the company remains focused on specific patient subgroups. Jeff Legos, Pfizer’s chief oncology officer, noted that patients who had undergone only one prior line of therapy experienced strong efficacy outcomes compared to current standards of care. Legos emphasized that the drug maintained a manageable safety profile throughout the study, despite the lack of broad success in the primary cohort.
Pfizer is currently pursuing a different strategy for the treatment, running a separate trial that evaluates sigvotatug vedotin in combination with pembrolizumab. This ongoing study targets patients who have not yet received prior therapies, positioning the drug as a potential first-line treatment option.
