Geotab and Toyota Connected Form Global Fleet Data Alliance

Facing acute labor shortages and an aging workforce in markets like Japan, Geotab and Toyota Connected have launched a global partnership to unify vehicle telemetry. The alliance integrates Toyota’s native connectivity platforms with Geotab’s AI-driven data ecosystem to provide fleet operators with enhanced operational insights across diverse vehicle makes.

The collaboration centers on a phased deployment of joint solutions, ranging from API-based data ingestion to fully integrated telematics services. By leveraging Geotab’s Data Ingestion Gateway, the partnership allows for seamless tracking of both Toyota and non-Toyota assets, creating a unified view of fleet performance. A core component of this rollout is G-Fleet+, a white-labeled iteration of Geotab’s platform tailored specifically for Toyota Connected’s service infrastructure.

Sherry Calkins, Senior Vice President of Global Strategic Accounts at Geotab, noted that the move is designed to scale global growth while ensuring the delivery of high-fidelity vehicle insights. Makoto Ito, Managing Director of Connected Strategy at Toyota Connected, emphasized that the alliance aims to bridge the gap between proprietary connectivity and broader fleet management requirements, ultimately improving the delivery of mobility services to global communities.
