Sazerac Expands RTD Portfolio With Summer-Focused Drink Lines

Sazerac Company is betting on the surging demand for spirit-based canned cocktails with the national rollout of three new brands: Lovebug Hard Cream Soda, Endless Afternoon Whiskey Lemonade, and Buckhorn Whiskey Lemonade. The expansion targets a U.S. category that has seen a 23% volume growth over the last year.

The new lineup aims to capture specific drinking occasions ranging from poolside gatherings to outdoor excursions. Lovebug Hard Cream Soda serves as a vodka-based entry point, positioning itself as a dairy-free alternative with 100 calories and 5% ABV. It features four flavor profiles, including Vanilla 'n Cream and Peaches 'n Cream, packaged in 12-ounce cans.

For whiskey enthusiasts, Sazerac is introducing two distinct lemonade-based offerings. Endless Afternoon focuses on a 9% ABV experience made with real lemon juice, while Buckhorn Whiskey Lemonade leverages an existing bourbon brand to offer a 7% ABV option tailored for camping and tailgating. Each of the three brands is hitting shelves nationwide in 8-pack variety formats, retailing at $18.99. According to Global Growth and Innovation Director Lauren Selman, the strategy is to move beyond simple convenience by prioritizing authentic spirit bases and complex flavor profiles to meet shifting consumer expectations.
