This order represents the second time in recent months that federal regulators have compelled the company to the bargaining table. The board previously issued a similar mandate regarding workers at the JFK8 warehouse in Staten Island, New York. According to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the ruling effectively requires the company to formally recognize and negotiate with the site's labor representatives.
Amazon officials remain resistant to the board's findings. A company spokesperson confirmed that management disagrees with the ruling and intends to pursue an appeal. The International Brotherhood of Teamsters currently maintains a footprint of over 1.3 million workers across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, positioning this dispute as a major test for labor organizing within the company’s logistics network.
