The integration, powered by the Docusign Model Context Protocol server, allows legal teams to execute tasks using plain-language prompts within the Perplexity interface. By centralizing the contract lifecycle, organizations can bypass the need to toggle between various internal tools during negotiations or compliance reviews.
Allan Thygesen, CEO of Docusign, noted that the objective is to embed agreement intelligence directly into the AI environments legal professionals already inhabit. For Perplexity’s General Counsel, Nathan Barksdale, the shift represents a move toward true end-to-end automation. Practical applications include identifying non-compliant clauses, drafting terms based on historical data, and managing HR employment agreements from onboarding through retirement. The integration is available globally in English starting today.
