Dahua Deploys AI-Driven Monitoring for Renewable Energy Infrastructure

At Intersolar Europe 2026 in Munich, Dahua Technology unveiled a suite of AIoT tools designed to modernize renewable energy management. By integrating thermal imaging, automated inspection, and centralized control platforms, the company aims to reduce manual workloads and bolster security across solar parks and power substations globally.

The company’s latest exhibition centered on five primary pillars: intelligent security, equipment inspection, PPE management, EV charging, and smart control centers. A core focus lies in perimeter protection for photovoltaic plants, where Dahua utilizes thermal algorithms to extend detection ranges by 85%. This technology has already proven effective in Brazil, where it cut daily false alarms from over 1,000 to roughly one per device weekly. A similar deployment is currently active at a 60 MW solar park in Romania.

Beyond perimeter security, Dahua is addressing operational maintenance through automated inspection systems that track equipment temperature and status in real-time. These systems alert operators to potential failures before they occur, shifting maintenance from reactive to predictive. Complementing these physical inspections are HSE-PPE management systems, which use AI to verify that workers in high-risk zones adhere to safety protocols, such as wearing helmets and vests.

To tie these disparate functions together, Dahua demonstrated its DSS Professional platform. This centralized hub allows managers to oversee remote sites, schedule inspection tasks, and analyze historical data from a single interface. The platform’s efficacy is highlighted by a project in Italy, where it now manages approximately 1,600 thermal cameras across 80 remote solar installations. The portfolio also includes a growing range of residential and commercial EV charging hardware, integrated into the same cloud-based management ecosystem.
