The jury behind the European Outdoor Group’s new awards program highlighted the removal of the zipper as the design’s most compelling innovation. Historically a common point of mechanical failure, the zipper’s absence mitigates fabric snagging and cold bridging, effectively extending the product's lifespan. Beyond the magnetic closure, the bag features an overlapping dual-flap opening and an envelope-style footbox, allowing for greater mobility and temperature regulation that mimics the feel of a blanket.
Jon Graden, Marmot’s Vice President and Global General Manager, described the product as a brand-wide effort to push the boundaries of three-season gear. The Wraptor is available in both 650 fill power down—certified to the Responsible Down Standard—and HL-ElixR Eco synthetic insulation. By utilizing 100% recycled polyester for the shell, Marmot aims to balance technical performance with sustainable manufacturing, offering a gender-neutral fit across three distinct lengths.
