This year's honorees include former Atlanta Falcons safety Brian Jordan, whose foundation focuses on youth education and literacy, and environmental advocate Ovie Mughelli, a former Falcons fullback. They are joined by Matt Ryan, the 2016 NFL MVP and current Falcons President of Football, who established the ATL: Advance The Lives foundation to remove structural barriers for Black youth. Pedro Salgado, the Falcons' director of youth football and legends community, rounds out the list for his efforts in fostering alumni engagement and expanding access to the sport.

Darrell Thompson, chair of the PFRPA board, noted that the awards highlight the commitment these individuals show toward their respective communities long after their playing days conclude. The banquet serves as the signature event for the organization, which provides dental and vision benefits to over 10,200 retired players and their spouses. Following successful gatherings in Green Bay and Houston, the association selected Atlanta for its deep ties to NFL history and civic engagement. Executive Director Joe Agbasi described the evening as a celebration of the lasting legacy created by athletes who prioritize service alongside their professional accomplishments.
