U.S. News and ScoreSmart Partner to Link Test Scores with Admissions Data

A practice test score is often just a number until a student understands how it translates to specific college aspirations. U.S. News & World Report and test-prep platform ScoreSmart announced a partnership today that bridges this gap, aiming to provide students with clearer, data-driven pathways during their admissions journey.

The collaboration integrates ScoreSmart’s digital practice testing for SAT and ACT exams with the extensive college admissions databases maintained by U.S. News. By connecting these two resources, the companies intend to move students beyond abstract scoring, allowing them to see how their current performance aligns with the requirements of institutions they are targeting.

Eric Gertler, CEO of U.S. News, noted that the move is designed to provide families with a more robust framework for evaluating potential schools. For ScoreSmart, the integration solves a fundamental problem: providing context for test results. Co-founder Neil Seltzer emphasized that the alliance transforms practice scores from isolated metrics into actionable goals, helping students justify the effort required for test improvement. The partnership is now live, aiming to inject more transparency into an increasingly complex college application process.
