Raytheon Secures $1.1 Billion Navy Deal for AIM-9X Missiles

A $1.1 billion contract from the U.S. Navy will see Raytheon ramp up production of its AIM-9X Block II missiles. The agreement, announced Friday, aims to replenish domestic stockpiles while addressing a surge in procurement requests from allied nations looking to modernize their infrared-tracking capabilities.

The deal covers the manufacturing of the advanced missiles alongside the necessary hardware and software packages for both U.S. and foreign military clients. Most of the production work is slated for Tucson, Arizona, a site where the company is currently engaged in a significant expansion of its engineering workforce to meet these heightened manufacturing demands.
