Home Bancorp Splits CEO and President Roles to Sharpen Strategy

Effective July 1, 2026, Home Bancorp is bifurcating its top leadership structure, moving Chief Risk Officer Darren E. Guidry into the role of President. John W. Bordelon will remain Chief Executive Officer, shifting his primary focus toward long-term corporate strategy, capital planning, and managing shareholder relations.

The Lafayette-based bank announced the transition this week, aiming to streamline its executive oversight. While Bordelon retains his position as Chairman and CEO, the promotion of Guidry creates a dedicated leader for daily business operations. Guidry, a veteran of the institution who has served as Chief Risk Officer since 2022, will now step away from his risk management duties to oversee the execution of the company’s strategic priorities.

Bordelon characterized the change as a necessary evolution to support the bank's next phase of growth. Guidry brings over three decades of experience to the new role, having served as Chief Credit Officer and Chief Lending Officer during his lengthy tenure. His mandate includes driving organizational performance while maintaining the firm's historical focus on credit quality and customer service. Home Bancorp, which traces its roots to 1908, continues to operate across Louisiana, Mississippi, and the Houston market.
