The relief organization, based in Boone, North Carolina, plans to launch its primary airlift on Saturday, June 27. The field hospital is designed to handle over 100 patients daily, featuring specialized operating rooms, a critical care unit, a pharmacy, and an on-site laboratory. Beyond medical equipment, the mission includes the delivery of blankets, solar lights, and emergency shelter materials to support displaced families currently sleeping on the streets in fear of aftershocks.

Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse, noted that the full scale of destruction in Caracas and La Guaira remains difficult to assess as search and rescue operations continue. With local infrastructure fractured and existing hospitals overwhelmed, the organization is already coordinating subsequent flights to deliver water filtration systems and hygiene kits. This deployment marks the beginning of a long-term commitment to a nation grappling with widespread building collapses and critical shortages of basic necessities.
