Rural King Expands Georgia Footprint with Mableton Storefront

A fourth Georgia location for Rural King opens its doors in Mableton this July, signaling the Illinois-based retailer's steady push into the Southeast. The new facility, situated at 2480 East-West Connector, combines a traditional rural-lifestyle inventory with modern retail upgrades like self-checkout kiosks and mobile payment systems.

Grand opening festivities run from July 3 through July 5, offering store specials and a promotional giveaway of four $500 gift cards for shoppers who join the company’s loyalty program. The Mableton site stocks a wide range of goods, from livestock feed and automotive supplies to power tools and outdoor equipment. Major brands including Carhartt, Stihl, and Ariat anchor the inventory, catering to the specific needs of local farmers, homeowners, and outdoor enthusiasts.

Chief Operating Officer Michael Ladd described the expansion as a reflection of the company’s deepening ties with the region. Since its 1960 founding in Mattoon, Illinois, the family-owned retailer has grown to operate over 150 stores across 17 states. Beyond the retail floor, the company maintains partnerships with youth organizations like 4-H and FFA, as well as the Gary Sinise Foundation, to support local community initiatives and veterans.
