Landmark Credit Union Targets Madison Growth with Five New Branches

Landmark Credit Union has launched an aggressive expansion strategy in Madison, Wisconsin, aiming to open five new branches by the end of 2027. The initiative kicked off this week with the relocation of a key branch to Monroe Street, signaling the start of a broader investment in the regional market.

The new 3,700-square-foot facility at 1712 Monroe St. replaces the former Spring Street location, offering enhanced access to retail, mortgage, and commercial banking services near Camp Randall Stadium. CEO Tim Mackay noted that while the credit union has maintained a singular Madison presence for over a decade, this expansion reflects a push to deepen relationships with local families and businesses. Future sites include Sun Prairie, Middleton, Waunakee, and East Washington Avenue, with footprints ranging from 3,600 to 4,000 square feet.

Beyond physical infrastructure, the expansion includes a philanthropic partnership with United Way of Dane County. Landmark has pledged to donate $100 for every new checking account opened at these locations, capping the contribution at $50,000. These funds will support the Reducing School Mobility initiative, which assists families facing housing instability. With over $7.5 billion in assets, the Wisconsin-based cooperative currently serves more than 400,000 members across its existing 35-branch network.
