The sold-out event, presented by La Sportiva, saw competitors from 44 states and seven countries navigate historic mining roads and rugged alpine terrain. Marathon participants faced over 6,000 feet of elevation gain, while those in the Heavy Half category climbed 3,400 feet over 15.4 miles. This race serves as the opening chapter of a five-weekend summer series that highlights Leadville as a premier hub for endurance culture.
Among the field, 119 athletes began their pursuit of the Lead Challenge, a season-long test requiring completion of five distinct events, including the grueling Leadville Trail 100 MTB and Run. For many, the weekend was more than a trial of strength; it acted as a qualifier for the iconic 100-mile ultramarathon, with top performers earning coins to secure their spots in the year's flagship race. Kimo Seymour, Senior Vice President of Events at Life Time, noted that these events remain central to the company’s mission of fostering personal transformation and community connection through sport.
