The integration of the Raypilot system into Johns Hopkins’ clinical workflow aims to address the complexities of intrafraction monitoring during radiation therapy. According to Prof. Daniel Song, the technology provides a pathway to enhance targeting accuracy, while Associate Prof. Kai Ding emphasized that rigorous assessment of such emerging systems remains critical for advancing radiation oncology standards.
Kauko Haapasaari, project leader for Micropos Medical in the U.S., described the collaboration as a pivotal step for the company’s efforts to improve quality of life for prostate cancer patients. Following this evaluation period, both institutions are now shifting their focus toward broader clinical implementation of the platform. The system is specifically engineered to assist clinicians in managing patient movement during active treatment sessions.
