Talks For Christ Launches America 250 Historical Series

As the nation marks its 250th anniversary, the digital platform Talks For Christ has debuted a three-part interview series featuring historian Jane Hampton Cook. Hosted by Dr. Bruce Oliver, the project examines the religious convictions, sacrifices, and principles that defined the American founding era.

The series unfolds across three distinct episodes, each tied to a significant date in the American calendar. Beginning with "From Grievance to Gratitude" on Flag Day, the discussions trace the role of prayer and perseverance during the Revolutionary War. Subsequent installments, aired around Father's Day and Independence Day, analyze the leadership of figures such as George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Phillis Wheatley. Cook, a former White House staffer and author of over twenty books, centers her analysis on the concept of gratitude, a theme explored extensively in her latest work, A Great and Grateful Nation.

Beyond the primary series, the project includes supplemental content covering religious freedom and the history of the Ten Commandments. These segments feature contributions from filmmaker Andrew Linn, author Howard B. Becker, and former Air Force Captain James F. Linsey. By highlighting these narratives, Dr. Oliver aims to connect historical foundations with contemporary reflections on faith and personal responsibility. The production, supported by HimFirstMedia.com, serves as an extension of the broader mission of Talks For Christ to curate testimonies and ministries for a wider audience.
