American Healthcare REIT Names Interim CEO Amid Prosky Medical Leave

American Healthcare REIT announced that Chief Executive Officer Danny Prosky began a medical leave of absence on Feb. 3, following a recent medical event. The board of directors has appointed Chairman Jeffrey Hanson to serve as interim chief executive to ensure leadership stability during Prosky’s absence.

The leadership change aims to maintain "continuity of operations" as the company navigates the CEO's temporary departure. According to the firm, Hanson will work closely with the senior management team to oversee the REIT's strategic and daily functions.

Leadership Transition and Continuity

Prosky has been a pivotal figure in the company’s growth within the healthcare real estate sector. While the board did not provide a specific timeline for his return, the appointment of Hanson—a seasoned executive with deep institutional knowledge—is intended to signal stability to investors and stakeholders.

The company confirmed that the transition would not affect its core focus on clinical real estate. American Healthcare REIT manages a diverse portfolio of properties, focusing on high-demand healthcare infrastructure including:

    • Medical office buildings
    • Senior housing facilities
    • Skilled nursing assets
    • Integrated healthcare campuses
This move ensures the firm remains focused on its operational goals while Prosky recovers from the medical event.
