Navitas Shares Slide Following Wolfspeed Patent Lawsuit

A sharp 9.5% drop in Navitas stock greeted Wednesday’s news that semiconductor rival Wolfspeed has initiated a patent infringement lawsuit. Shares tumbled to $12.72 as markets reacted to allegations targeting the company’s core technology, though the firm remains up 78% since the beginning of the year.

Navitas Shares Slide Following Wolfspeed Patent Lawsuit

Wolfspeed claims that several of Navitas’s primary product lines violate its intellectual property rights. The lawsuit specifically identifies GaN-based FETs, GenerSiC MOSFETs, and SiCPak modules as infringing on patents related to semiconductor and high-power electronic standards.

Navitas issued a formal response on Wednesday, stating it disputes all allegations brought by Wolfspeed. Despite the immediate market volatility, the company maintains that its product designs stand on solid legal ground.
