Founded in 1991, Med Frigo has built its reputation as a dominant force in the Greek aquaculture logistics sector. By leveraging a fleet of refrigerated vehicles and a proprietary network of cold-storage facilities, the company has maintained consistent growth by serving major fish producers. This acquisition arrives as OB Streem pursues a broader expansion strategy under its new CEO, Alexandros Karafillides, who took the helm following a career spanning over 25 years in international consumer goods.

The combined entity now operates with annual revenues exceeding $500 million, positioning it as a significant player in Southeast European trade. OB Streem, which manages 400,000 square metres of warehouse space across eight countries, intends to utilize this integration to optimize its freight forwarding and ambient storage capabilities. Stelios Theodosiou, Managing Director at H.I.G. Realty, noted that the move creates a unique logistics platform, combining Med Frigo’s specialized industry expertise with OB Streem’s expansive infrastructure and footprint.
