The tour, titled Footsteps of the Odyssey in Greece, is scheduled to depart on June 26, 2027. Moving beyond standard mainland routes, the path ventures into the Ionian Sea, stopping in Athens, Ithaca, Kefalonia, and Corfu. Lael Kassis, vice president of market innovation at EF Go Ahead Tours, stated that the goal is to transform a literary classic into a tangible travel experience by blending mythology, archaeology, and local traditions.
This launch aligns with consumer data indicating that 65% of travelers are likely to visit destinations featured in films or literature. The itinerary includes specific Homeric milestones, such as a visit to the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion, the underground waters of Lake Melissani, and the ancient oracle at the Necromanteion of Acheron. Prices for the 12-day excursion begin at $4,499 per person, with an optional extension available for those wishing to explore the Peloponnese region further.
