This contract serves as a core component of a foreign defense sales initiative managed by the Republic of Korea’s Defense Acquisition Program Administration. By retrofitting the current fleet, Seoul seeks to maintain regional air superiority while ensuring seamless tactical interoperability with U.S. forces.

Phillip Casalegno, F-15 international program director at BAE Systems, emphasized the collaboration with Boeing and local industry teams to tailor the electronic warfare suite for the Slam Eagle’s specific requirements. The system is already in full-rate production for the U.S. Air Force’s F-15EX Eagle II and F-15E platforms, utilizing a modular software architecture that allows for rapid firmware updates. Manufacturing for the ROKAF upgrade will take place at the company’s facilities in Nashua, New Hampshire, and Austin, Texas.
