The Roots of Oracle Bone Civilization IP, developed by China Daily’s Kunlun platform, centers on four thematic pillars: Bronze, Jade, City, and Writing. By transforming ancient characters into contemporary visual narratives, officials intend to bridge the gap between archaeological research and mass communication. This strategy aligns with the Global Civilization Initiative, aiming to distribute content across more than 50 countries and regions.
Local authorities in Henan province view this as a pivotal step in their ongoing revitalization of the Yinxu site. Since its 2006 UNESCO recognition, Anyang has prioritized the interpretation of Shang civilization, recently highlighted by the 2022 discovery of a royal cemetery and the opening of the new Yinxu Museum. Future efforts include collaborative projects with the museum to expand the reach of these artifacts through interactive experiences and digital media, effectively rebranding an ancient cultural resource for a modern, international demographic.
