A $225 million injection from the U.S. Department of Commerce is set to accelerate Bosch’s $2 billion overhaul of its Roseville facility. The capital will specifically fuel the conversion of the Roseville site into a high-tech hub for silicon carbide chips. Paul Thomas, Chief Executive of Bosch North America, emphasized that localizing production serves to insulate the company from global supply chain volatility while leveraging the existing technical expertise of its American workforce.

Beyond this specific facility, Bosch has committed to a $7.5 billion investment plan across its U.S. operations through 2029. With sample production already underway in Roseville, the company is on track to initiate commercial output on 200-millimeter wafers by 2026.
