Gustavo Perez Fernandez, president of Leica Biosystems, indicated that the acquisition serves as a strategic bridge toward modernizing laboratory environments. The integration of StatLab’s products is designed to provide the consistency and quality control required for advanced digital pathology adoption. Leica, which operates as part of the broader Danaher science and technology group alongside entities like Cytiva and Beckman Coulter, will absorb StatLab from its current owners, Linden Capital Partners and Audax Private Equity.
The companies have not disclosed the financial details of the agreement. The transaction is currently slated to finalize by the end of 2026, marking a shift in Leica's efforts to automate and scale cancer detection technologies across its global laboratory network.
