Chicago Fire FC Taps Boldyn Networks for McDonald's Park Connectivity

Chicago Fire FC has selected Boldyn Networks to design the digital infrastructure for its upcoming stadium, McDonald's Park. Set to open in 2028 as the centerpiece of the South Loop’s “The 78” development, the venue aims to set a new benchmark for stadium connectivity across Major League Soccer.

The project centers on a converged network architecture designed to handle the heavy data demands of a modern sports and entertainment venue. Boldyn will deploy a neutral host 5G distributed antenna system alongside high-density Wi-Fi 7 to cover the entire seating bowl, concourses, and outdoor gathering spaces. By integrating a fiber backbone, the system will support everything from broadcast operations and security protocols to fan-facing digital services.

Beyond basic connectivity, the infrastructure serves as a strategic business tool. Chicago Fire FC expects the platform to drive commercial growth by facilitating seamless mobile concessions, merchandise sales, and premium fan experiences. Jason Caliento, Chief Commercial Officer at Boldyn, noted that the deployment is intended to provide a scalable foundation that avoids technology obsolescence for over a decade. This partnership mirrors Boldyn’s ongoing work with other MLS venues, including LAFC’s BMO Stadium and the upcoming Etihad Park in New York.
