Xryma Plc Prepares September Launch of Regulated Euro Stablecoin

Nicosia-based financial firm Xryma Plc has confirmed the upcoming release of XrymaCoin (XREUR), a euro-denominated stablecoin operating under the European Union’s MiCAR framework. The company officially notified the Central Bank of Cyprus of its whitepaper in late June, signaling a new approach to digital payment instruments.

The token is scheduled for public issuance on 3 September 2026. Users will be able to subscribe through the company’s dedicated portal using open banking capabilities, including the Paidby Mastercard system, T2 RTGS, or merchant APIs. Unlike many existing stablecoins, XREUR is designed to function as an on-demand payment instrument, offering multicurrency payouts and cross-border settlement in over 60 countries.

Group CEO Nikogiannis Karantzis stated that the asset aims to bridge the gap between traditional banking infrastructure and digital assets. Backed by reserves held at Credit Step 1 EU banks, XrymaCoin will provide real-time, audited transparency regarding its holdings. While the issuance complies with Article 51 of MiCAR, the company clarified that the token is not covered by standard investor compensation or deposit guarantee schemes. Xryma Plc, an EEA-authorised electronic money institution, remains solely responsible for the whitepaper content as it simultaneously pursues a listing on Euronext Paris under the stock code XRY.
