Wacom Yuify Brings Authorship Protection to ibisPaint

Over 500 million ibisPaint users now have a way to protect their digital work as Wacom integrates its Yuify service into the mobile-first platform. Starting July 28, 2026, creators can embed invisible authorship data directly into their PNG illustrations, extending verification tools beyond traditional desktop software.

The rollout covers the entire ibisPaint ecosystem, including the standard app, ibisPaint X, and the education-focused edition. By updating to the latest version, artists gain access to invisible micromarking technology that creates a verifiable record of ownership. This metadata travels with the file, allowing anyone to confirm the creator's identity via the browser-based Yuifinder tool.

Previously, Wacom Yuify was limited to professional desktop suites like Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, and Rebelle. The shift to ibisPaint marks a strategic move to secure mobile creative workflows, where a vast portion of modern digital art is produced and shared. Koji Yano, Senior Vice President at Wacom, noted that providing simple assertion tools on mobile devices is critical as creative activity migrates away from traditional workstations.

Yuka Inoue, Section Manager at Ibis inc., emphasized that the integration aims to foster a more secure environment for artists to display their work. By combining Wacom’s digital ID system with the accessibility of mobile drawing tools, the companies seek to address growing concerns regarding trust and authenticity in online creative communities.
