Middle West Spirits Launches First Old Elk 10-Year Collection

A decade of maturation defines the new trio of releases from Old Elk Distillery, marking the brand’s first major product expansion since its acquisition by Middle West Spirits in May 2025. The collection aims to bridge the gap between premium aged liquid and consumer accessibility in the competitive American whiskey market.

The 10-Year-Old Collection features a Straight Bourbon, a Straight Wheat Whiskey, and a Wheated Bourbon, all hitting the market at a suggested retail price of $69.99. Middle West Spirits, which operates out of Columbus, Ohio, views these releases as a validation of their post-acquisition strategy to scale production while maintaining the craft standards established since their 2008 founding.

Each expression highlights a specific approach to mash bills and aging. The 10-Year-Old Straight Bourbon utilizes a signature high-malted barley content—51% corn, 34% malted barley, and 15% rye—to achieve balance at 52.5% ABV. The Straight Wheat Whiskey leans heavily on 96% soft red winter wheat, while the Wheated Bourbon incorporates 46% wheat to accent the corn’s sweetness. According to Luis Gonzalez, CCO of Middle West Spirits, the collection represents a pursuit of quality that remains accessible to the average enthusiast despite the long aging timeline. The bottles are currently available nationwide through the Old Elk online shop and the Middle West Spirits distillery location.
