Illinois Tool Works Raises Annual Forecast After Strong Quarterly Growth

The company now anticipates full-year earnings between $11.35 and $11.55 per share, a notable lift from its previous guidance of $11.10 to $11.50. This upward revision pushes the firm past the $11.31 average estimate tracked by FactSet. Revenue growth projections have also been adjusted, with the company now targeting a 4% to 5% increase, compared to its earlier forecast of 2% to 4%.

Organic revenue is expected to rise by 3% to 4%, marking a stronger outlook than the initial 1% to 3% range. CEO Christopher O'Herlihy attributed the improved forecast to consistent operational momentum observed throughout the quarter ending June 30. The reported quarterly earnings of $2.84 per share aligned with Wall Street expectations, while total revenue growth of 6.1% outperformed consensus estimates of $4.19 billion.
