Replay Sports Cards Launches Charity Drive at National Convention

Ahead of the 2026 National Sports Collectors Convention in Rosemont, the sports card franchise Replay is embedding its "Replay Gives Back" initiative into the local community. The company is coordinating a week of charity events, ranging from hospital visits to donation stations, before the industry’s largest annual gathering even begins.

The campaign kicks off with a sports trivia night held prior to the Chicago White Sox game against the New York Yankees. According to co-founder Mike Martin, the event serves as an entry point for casual fans, offering $1,000 in trading cards as prizes. On Wednesday, the team will visit La Rabida Children's Hospital to distribute packs to young patients, a move co-founder Brent Schepel describes as a way to share the hobby with those facing complex health challenges.

Once the convention opens at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Replay will maintain a physical presence on the floor while operating donation stations within the VIP Trade Night Lounge. Mike Weinberger, president of franchising, noted that the stations are designed to capture cards from collectors who have surplus inventory but lack a direct outlet for charity. Since the program’s inception in November 2024, the company has collected over 3 million cards, which are sorted and redistributed into curated packs featuring brands like Topps, Panini, and Upper Deck. Beyond these philanthropic efforts, company representatives will use the week to discuss franchise expansion with potential partners.
