Buildforce Secures $10 Million to Scale Electrician Staffing

With demand for skilled electrical labor surging due to data center expansion and national infrastructure projects, Houston-based Buildforce has closed a $10 million Series A round. Led by Saepio Capital, the fresh financing will accelerate the company’s national footprint and refine its digital marketplace for contractors and trade workers.

Founded in 2019, Buildforce operates a specialized platform connecting electricians with industrial and commercial construction firms. To date, the company has facilitated over 2,000,000 hours of labor across 2,000 projects. The platform functions through a dual-interface system: a mobile application for workers to secure assignments and a web portal for contractors to manage their staffing requirements.

CEO and co-founder Moody Heard noted that the funding marks a pivotal step in the company’s mission to provide more secure career paths for construction professionals. The investment round included participation from Blue Heron Capital, alongside existing backers such as Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, S3 Ventures, and Chicago Ventures.

The company is positioning itself to capture a significant share of a labor market currently facing a critical talent shortage. A 2026 BlackRock economic report projects the electrical trade will be the fastest-growing employment category in the U.S. over the next decade, with an anticipated annual growth rate of 9.5%. Investors cited this generational infrastructure buildout—fueled by energy transitions and data center construction—as the primary driver for their commitment to the platform’s continued expansion.
