The tool generates surgeon-specific cost scorecards and identifies standardization opportunities, providing clinical context and reasoning for every recommendation.

Despite the agent's speed, Smith emphasized a "human-in-the-loop" design philosophy. The technology is built to alert and recommend rather than execute, ensuring that clinical staff retain final decision-making authority. This approach leverages over a decade of data from 400 hospital sites and 1.64 million perioperative procedures. Hospitals joining the design partner program will undergo a data-readiness review to ensure the AI's outputs remain accurate and actionable before full integration begins.
