For over two decades, the ACS has utilized programs like the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program to establish benchmarks for surgical excellence. By integrating Arcadia’s healthcare performance platform, the college intends to automate data connectivity, allowing hospitals to identify clinical trends without the burden of manual formatting. The goal is to create a cohesive ecosystem where surgical teams can access actionable intelligence in real time.
"This is not a technology initiative. This is a quality improvement strategy," said Patricia L. Turner, MD, MBA, FACS, executive director and CEO of the ACS. Arcadia CEO Michael Meucci noted that the platform is designed to bridge fragmented information, providing clinicians with the foundation necessary to accelerate data-driven innovation. While the methods of gathering and processing information are evolving, the college maintains that its rigorous standards for clinical data remain unchanged.
