Johnson’s career spans 18 years within the district, moving from a math instructional coach to a principal who prioritizes student confidence. His tenure has been defined by initiatives like the Lion Bucks Program, which incentivizes academic achievement and positive behavior. A product of the Miami-Dade system himself, Johnson previously received the 2025 FIU Community Schools Principal of the Year award.
