Unisys Reports Q2 Revenue Dip Amid Goodwill Write-Down

Unisys Corporation posted $473.5 million in revenue for the second quarter of 2026, a 2% year-over-year decline that follows a significant $47.2 million goodwill impairment charge. Despite the bottom-line pressure, the company signaled resilience in its core service segments and reaffirmed its full-year financial outlook.

The Blue Bell-based firm reported an operating loss of $32.9 million for the quarter, largely attributed to the full write-off of goodwill within its Digital Workplace Solutions (DWS) reporting unit. While consolidated revenue contracted, the company’s Technology Solutions & Services (TS&S) division saw a modest uptick, with revenue reaching $403.8 million—a 2% increase compared to the same period last year.

Management emphasized the strength of new contract activity, noting that total new business signings surged 57% to $192 million. CEO Michael Thomson pointed to an "AI-First" operational strategy as a primary lever for long-term competitiveness. Looking ahead, Unisys maintains its 2026 guidance, projecting a constant currency revenue decline between 3.5% and 5.0% and an operating profit margin of 9% to 11%.
