Intuit Faces Class Action Over TurboTax Growth Claims

A federal class action lawsuit targets Intuit Inc. following a 20% single-day stock collapse in May 2026. The litigation, centered in the Northern District of California, alleges the company misled investors about the sustainability of its TurboTax business while secretly struggling with competitive pressures and declining demand.

The complaint identifies a class period between August 22, 2025, and May 20, 2026. According to the filing, Intuit overstated its competitive advantage and growth prospects, only to reveal significant underlying weaknesses when it announced a workforce restructuring affecting 3,000 employees. The company simultaneously slashed its full-year revenue growth outlook for TurboTax to 7%, triggering a $76.86 per share drop that closed the stock at $307.07 on May 21.

Institutional investors, including pension funds and asset managers, face a September 8, 2026, deadline to apply for lead plaintiff status. Legal firm Levi & Korsinsky, operating under the SueWallSt banner, is currently evaluating claims for those who purchased securities during the defined period. While monitoring a claim does not require formal lead plaintiff status, institutions with significant losses are being encouraged to assess their recovery options to ensure oversight of case strategy and potential settlement negotiations.
