Futu Investors Face August Deadline in Securities Fraud Lawsuit

Investors who purchased Futu Holdings Limited securities between May 24, 2023, and May 27, 2026, have until August 25 to apply as lead plaintiffs in a pending class action lawsuit. The litigation targets alleged misrepresentations regarding the company’s regulatory compliance and business practices within mainland China.

The lawsuit claims that Futu Holdings failed to disclose critical regulatory shortcomings to the China Securities Regulatory Commission. Specifically, the complaint alleges the company continued operating its securities, public fund, and futures businesses in mainland China without securing the necessary licenses or government approvals. These omissions reportedly led to overstated financial results and left the firm vulnerable to significant penalties, including the potential disgorgement of gains. When these details surfaced, investors experienced financial losses.

Rosen Law Firm, which is representing the class, notes that no class has been formally certified yet. Investors retain the right to choose their own counsel or remain absent members of the class. Those interested in serving as lead plaintiff must file a motion with the court by the August 25 deadline. The firm emphasizes that participating as a lead plaintiff is not a prerequisite for sharing in any potential future recovery, though it allows investors to play an active role in directing the litigation.
