H.B. Fuller Faces $75 Million Payout Over TEC Power Grout Claims

Homeowners who purchased or installed TEC Power Grout between December 2016 and December 2024 may be entitled to cash compensation as part of a $75 million class action settlement. The agreement resolves claims that the product failed to harden properly and suffered from structural defects when exposed to moisture.

The settlement, pending in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, addresses allegations against H.B. Fuller Company and H.B. Fuller Construction Products Inc. Plaintiffs in the case, Lisa Rouse, et al. v. HB Fuller Company, et al., contend that the company misrepresented the performance of the grout while charging premium prices. While the defendants deny any wrongdoing or liability, the court-approved agreement provides a path for reimbursement for affected consumers.

Eligibility is divided into two primary subclasses. Subclass One includes homeowners who already paid to repair or replace the defective grout. These claimants may seek reimbursement for 39% of their documented repair costs, capped at $75,000. Subclass Two covers those who own homes with the product installed or who purchased the grout directly, offering either 39% coverage for future repairs or a partial refund for the purchase price of the material itself. Interested parties must file a claim by April 29, 2027, to receive payment. Those wishing to opt out of the settlement or file an objection must do so by October 13, 2026, ahead of the final fairness hearing scheduled for October 21, 2026.
