The transaction grants Quasar control over a site established in 2024, complete with dedicated engineering talent and precision equipment for laser cutting, shape setting, and electropolishing. By folding the San Diego operation into its existing infrastructure, Quasar plans to bridge the gap between early-stage innovation and high-volume manufacturing at its Tecate, Mexico plant, located just an hour away.

Christine Trepanier, Quasar’s Senior Vice President of Technology, will oversee the integration of the site alongside the company’s development hubs in Israel and Galway. The acquisition also brings in industry veterans, including Tom Duerig, a pioneer in medical Nitinol applications. For Medres International, the sale allows the company to refocus its resources on its Hungarian headquarters, while Quasar gains the capacity to scale complex, high-performance implantables and disposables for its global client base.
