S&P Indices Reshuffle: Ferguson Enterprises and ADI Global Join Ranks

A major realignment of S&P Dow Jones Indices is set for early August, as Ferguson Enterprises prepares to enter the S&P 500 while ADI Global Distribution secures a spot in the S&P SmallCap 600, displacing Electronic Arts and Hertz Global Holdings respectively in a shift driven by corporate acquisitions and spin-offs.

Ferguson Enterprises Inc. will join the S&P 500 index effective August 5, taking the place of Electronic Arts. The move follows an acquisition deal for the video game publisher involving the Public Investment Fund, Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners.

Concurrently, the S&P SmallCap 600 will see ADI Global Distribution Inc. added on August 4, following its spin-off from Resideo Technologies Inc. This change triggers the removal of Hertz Global Holdings from the small-cap index on August 5, as the rental car company no longer aligns with the index's market representation criteria.
