Class Action Lawsuit Targets LGBTQ Center Orange County Over Data Breach

Filed by Zakay Law Group, the complaint asserts that inadequate cybersecurity measures led to unauthorized access to both personal and protected health information.

The litigation, Case No. 30-2026-01577422-CU-MT-CXC, centers on claims of negligence and breach of fiduciary duty. Plaintiffs contend that the center violated several state statutes, including the California Consumer Privacy Act and the Confidentiality of Medical Information Act. The filing argues that the organization’s failure to maintain robust digital safeguards left individuals vulnerable to identity theft, fraud, and the long-term emotional distress associated with compromised medical records.

Legal representatives for the class suggest that service users maintained a reasonable expectation of privacy regarding their personal details. The lawsuit highlights the heightened risk profile of community health providers, which regularly aggregate sensitive data while managing outreach and social support programs. Those affected by the breach are currently being directed to contact attorney Jackland Hom for further information regarding the ongoing proceedings in Orange County.
