Seven Corporations Launch 180 MW Texas Solar Project via Aggregated VPPA

Seven major enterprises, including Cisco and Juniper Networks, have brought the 180 MW Phase II of the Millers Branch Solar Facility in Haskell County, Texas, to commercial operation. This milestone marks a significant expansion of Sustainability Roundtable’s aggregated procurement model, which enables diverse companies to finance large-scale renewable energy development collectively.

The project operates through a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) facilitated by the Net Zero Consortium for Buyers (NZCB). By pooling their purchasing power, the seven participants—Cisco, Juniper Networks, Bio-Rad Laboratories, Cadence Design Systems, IDEXX Laboratories, PTC, and an unnamed healthcare firm—have secured renewable energy credits generated by the facility. Cisco acted as the anchor buyer for 50 MW of the total capacity, while the remaining output is distributed among the other partners in increments ranging from 10 MW to 40 MW.

This deployment follows the successful 200 MW first phase of Millers Branch, which began operations in December 2025 with Thermo Fisher Scientific as the sole offtaker. The consortium’s strategy centers on democratizing access to utility-scale green energy, allowing companies to meet specific emissions targets that might otherwise be out of reach for individual procurement efforts. The NZCB platform has now surpassed a gigawatt of new clean energy development, with current efforts shifting toward a multi-gigawatt pipeline and $1.5 billion in long-term commitments across North America, Europe, and India.
