Vizsla Silver Taps Luis Lázaro to Lead Mexico Operations

With the Panuco silver project approaching a critical transition toward construction and production, Vizsla Silver has appointed Luis Lázaro as its new President for Mexico. Lázaro, a veteran executive with three decades of experience, will manage the company’s in-country operations as it targets initial output by the second half of 2027.

Lázaro joins the company after serving as CEO of Citrofrut, where he spearheaded a major operational overhaul and portfolio expansion. His career spans leadership roles at Grupo PINSA and CEMEX, providing him with a deep understanding of Mexico’s industrial landscape. At Vizsla Silver, he will report directly to CEO Michael Konnert, focusing on stakeholder relations, permitting, and the development of the flagship Panuco project in Sinaloa.

Simultaneous with this appointment, the company is restructuring its geological leadership. Guillermo Hernandez, the recently named Vice President of Exploration, will assume expanded oversight of all geological functions following the departure of Chief Geologist Jesus Velador on August 27, 2026. These management shifts occur as the company moves beyond the November 2025 feasibility study, which projected an annual production of 17.4 million silver-equivalent ounces over a nine-year mine life.
