Dr. Diana Medina, current Chair of the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners, joins as Chief Psychologist to lead the practice’s APA-accredited doctoral training program. Her role focuses on building a sustainable workforce to prevent future service gaps. Joining her is Dr. Shalini Tharani, a psychiatrist with over two decades of local experience, who takes on the role of Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Tharani will anchor the practice’s medical dimension, ensuring that psychiatric care remains fully embedded within the patient’s broader clinical team rather than operating in isolation.
Wendy Reid, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, completes the expansion as Director of Operations. Tasked with managing the practice’s infrastructure, Reid oversees the workflows and logistical systems that allow the integrated model to function at scale. Founder and CEO Dr. Shar Najafi-Piper stated that these appointments move the organization toward a higher standard of care, addressing the systemic barriers that have historically left families managing their own coordination. By aligning clinical expertise with operational precision, Roya Health aims to solidify its position as a structural solution to Arizona’s documented behavioral health deficiencies.
